Bubblemania

An amazing array of icy bubbles and trapped grasses caught my attention in one of our many local, frozen puddles. Get close enough and it’s like staring into another galaxy with incredible layers of detail, although it required a macro lens and some focus stacking to show this. The title is a playful nod towards John Blakemore’s wonderful Tulipomania series – I can only imagine what wonders he’d have created with an icy puddle such as this one…
