Birch filigree, Upper Loch Torridon
I discovered this little copse of birch trees a few years ago, perched right on the edge of Loch Torridon and, at first glance, perhaps a little innocuous - but then, can a birch tree ever be so? The reality is their wonderful and delicate form in its winter guise is beautifully offset by the sea water beyond and in soft light and still conditions, they are a subject I keep being drawn to.
