Lie of the Land; article in January edition of Outdoor Photography

Posted on 22nd December, 2012

Outdoor Photography magazine recently introduced a new one page feature to the magazine called 'Lie of the Land'. The subject matter varies each month but of course the topic must be photography related! ;-) It seemed the ideal vehicle for telling the tale of one of my more eventful dawn shoots in the Yorkshire Dales.

This took place over 4 years ago and, thankfully, I've managed to avoid repeating the catalogue of errors made on that day. You can read my little tale in full in the January edition of the magazine but to give you a flavour... I got up an hour too early, I got my car stuck in a bog, I accidentally brought my husband's size 11 boots rather than my own. Amazingly, despite all this, I did get the image I was after and it's still an old favourite!
