Greece

Having long wished to visit mainland Greece in Spring, we finally found the opportunity to take a trip there in May of this year. We were keen to visit Athens and Delphi briefly - other than that we wanted to find somewhere with spectacular scenery and a good wild flowers.

With the help of Google, I came across an area towards the north of the mainland called Zagoria. After seeing one or two photos, I knew I had to go there - luckily my husband was equally impressed and, after spending six wonderful days there, we both felt it to be one of the most beautiful places we had visited.

I've now just returned from a flying 3 day visit there earlier in November - hard to say whether it's most beautiful in Spring or Autumn.
