Scottish islands

Scotland boasts some truly spectacular islands, with the landscape ranging from long white sandy beaches and clear azure seas to precipitous and jagged mountain ranges.

In recent times we have tried to visit a different Scottish island every year and for the most part we have succeeded.

At times the scenery has been almost tropical in appearance - with crystal clear seas, fine shell sand beaches, vivid blue skies... Yet often, on the very same day, the skies have been dull and overcast, the rain seemingly unrelenting.

All part of the joy and unpredictability of the Scottish weather!
